The Wise One

"But a life lived loving God bears lasting fruit, for the one who is truly wise wins souls." - Proverbs‬ ‭11‬:‭30‬ ‭TPT‬‬

When I perceive someone wants to take advantage of me or when I realize after the fact that I was taken advantage of, what really gets to me is not just what happened but the fact that I was played for a fool. I want to be wise and be seen as wise. I know this is true for most of us. We do not want anyone to think we are fools. When we think of wisdom, we think about being knowledgeable, having good judgment. This is the way we define wisdom as human beings.

That’s not quite how God defines wisdom however for the children of God. This verse in Proverbs teaches us that He who is “truly” wise wins souls. A life lived truly loving God bears fruits. The fruits that we bear are the people we bring into the kingdom of God. Pause for a second and think about this. Do you consider yourself wise? Are you truly wise by God’s stands? How many souls have you won for God? Do you avoid telling people of this precious gift you have? Are you sharing this best thing that has happened to you? Are you living your life in such a way that it attracts people to Jesus?

Practice points this week:

- Be open to the people around you who need to hear about Jesus

- Ask God to lead you to at least one person this week that you can witness to

- Pray for the hearts of your friends, family members and colleagues who have not yet received Christ to be fertile ground for the word of God

PRAYER

“Father, help me to be attuned this week to the thing that matters most to you. I want to show my love for you by bearing lasting fruit. Lead me to at least one person this week who is hungry for the word of God. In Jesus Name, Amen”
